Jason received his PhD in sociology from the University of Washington, where he was involved with the Center for Studies in Demography and Ecology (CSDE) and the Center for Statistics and the Social Sciences (CSSS) (and tried to score a few goals for the CSSS rec soccer team). He was also lucky enough to spend time as postdoctoral trainee at the University of Wisconsin's Center for Demography of Health and Aging (CDHA).
